When this happened during a 1-2 shift
Needless to say I still kept running, minus the knob. I popped it back on after the event was over, but all three of the little tabs Wer broken.

Its just stuck on with the slot in the end of the rod as a clip. Normally it takes enough force to remove that you end up punching the ceiling or your face when you pull it off. I’ve punched myself in the face twice pulling them off my cars.

My Jeep has a push on knob too. Cheap bastards.
